II. Relief Requested

Figure 1 shows the dialog Window, while Figure 2 shows a closer look at the dialog options available.

Figure 2 shows options defaulted using the "Jane Doe Sample" demonstration we have been working on throughout the Petition section of the help file. When you come to the Relief dialog unselect anything you do not require and select all that is required.

Discussion of the options from within the Par. II. Relief Requested

Most of these selections are answered by default; however, they may be changed to be selected, unselected or updated as needed.

  • Provide reasonable maintenance for the [ ] husband [ ] wife.  This is defaulted from 1.10 Maintenance
  • Approve the petitioner's proposed parenting plan for the dependent children listed in paragraph 1.15. This response defaults originally from Paragraph 1.3 Children of the Marriage Dependent Upon Either or Both Spouses into Paragraph 1.15 Child Support and Parenting Plan for Dependent Children.
  • Determine support for the dependent children listed in paragraph 1.15 pursuant to the Washington State child support statutes. Defaults from Paragraph 1.15 Child Support and Parenting Plan for Dependent Children.
  • Approve the separation contract or prenuptial agreement.
  • Divide the property and liabilities. Defaults from Paragraphs 1.8 Property & 1.9 Debts and Liabilities.
  • Change name of wife to (first, middle, last): Defaults from Wife's Information.
  • Change name of husband to (first, middle, last): Defaults from Husband's Information.
  • Enter a domestic violence protection order. Defaults from Paragraph 1.12 Protection Order.
  • Enter an antiharassment protection order. Defaults from Paragraph 1.12 Protection Order.
  • Enter a continuing restraining order. Defaults from Paragraph 1.11 Continuing Restraining Order.
  • Order payment of day care expenses for the children listed in paragraph 1.15. This has no default, check if needed.
  • Award the tax exemptions for the dependent children listed in paragraph 1.15 as follows: Defaults from Dependent Children dialog .
  • Order payment of attorney fees, other professional fees and costs. This has no default, check if needed.
  • Other: Defaults from Paragraph 1.16 Other; however, may be changed, updated, or unchecked.
